Sample Projects.
One type of machine we make for our customers uses drills that incorporate air motors and air cylinders into one unit. Pneumatic is the term used in our industry for devices that use compressed air to make the devices work. Air makes the motors spin and air makes the cylinders move forward and backward to drill holes in parts.
Another type of machine we make uses rotary knives to cut around the circumference of a part, in order to remove unneeded plastic on the part. A knife blade is mounted to an air cylinder and the entire air cylinder is mounted to a rotary shaft that is driven through a gear box by an electric motor. The gear box is used to reduce the maximum rpm that the knife can rotate around the part. In addition to the gear box, an electric drive is used to vary the speed of the motor, to make it capable of running even slower than what the gear box produces.
There are also many machines we make that incorporate both types of devices mentioned above, so we often make custom machines for customers that will drill holes in the part and cut excess plastic off the part. This is demonstrated in the video below.
